Arkadelphia Promise Signing Day: Investing in Our Future
On May 7, 2025, Arkadelphia High School will host the Arkadelphia Promise Academic Signing Day for the Class of 2025. This scholarship program has awarded over $5 million to more than 700 graduates, supporting their pursuit of higher education.
Since its inception in 2010, the Arkadelphia Promise has been instrumental in increasing the college-going rate among local students. Funded by the Ross Foundation and Southern Bancorp, the program provides scholarships to Arkadelphia High School graduates who are also recipients of the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship. The Promise covers the difference between the Challenge Scholarship and the highest tuition and mandatory fees charged by Arkansas public colleges or universities, making higher education more accessible for many families.
The impact of the Arkadelphia Promise extends beyond financial assistance. It has fostered a culture of academic achievement and aspiration within the community. The program’s success is evident in
the increased college enrollment and retention rates among Arkadelphia High School graduates. Many alumni have returned to Arkadelphia to contribute to the community, some even joining the school district as educators, exemplifying the program’s long-term benefits.
As a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Realty and a member of the Lifestyle Collective, I recognize the significance of such programs in enhancing the desirability of our community. The Arkadelphia Promise not only supports our youth but also strengthens the fabric of our town, making it an attractive place for families seeking a supportive environment for their children’s education.
